Overview

DropLink is a peer-to-peer (P2P) file transfer service built on WebRTC technology. We are deeply committed to your privacy. This policy explains how our service works and how your data is handled.

🔒

The short version: Your files are NEVER uploaded to our servers. They travel directly from your browser to the recipient's browser. We cannot see, access, or store your files.

What We Collect

To keep DropLink running and improving, we collect minimal technical data:

All collected data is aggregated and anonymized. It cannot be used to identify you personally.

How P2P Transfer Works

DropLink uses WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) technology to create a direct, encrypted channel between two browsers. Here's the process:

  1. The sender selects files and generates an "offer code" (a WebRTC SDP signal)
  2. This code is shared with the receiver manually (copy/paste)
  3. The receiver generates an "answer code" sent back to the sender
  4. A direct encrypted connection is established between the two browsers
  5. Files are transferred directly — our servers are never involved in the file data

The only server involvement is the initial STUN server call to help establish the peer connection. STUN servers only help browsers find each other's network address — they never see your file data.
